My Career Portfolio
Giovanni Hollis

Giovanni Hollis ,21
My name is Giovanni Hollis and from Bermuda, being born and raised on an island has led to an increased thirst for living through a globalized lense and exploring as much as I can. My love of traveling, people and their stories has sprouted since, culminating in my current identity as a student at Northeastern University pursuing a bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering. Being Bermudian is an identity as few as 90,000 people in the world can claim to hold; my identity is as niche as the country in which I live.
Through my personal website career portfolio, I aim to create a space where you can learn about me both professionally and personally.
As an empathetic, intellectually curious and ambitious person, I believe the strength in industrial engineering lies in its versatility. Graduating in Spring 2024, I've worked in the finance and investing, healthcare and reinsurance spaces. With extracurricular experience in pro-bono consulting and ESG investing, I've explored a lot of different fields and narrowed down my interests.
As a project management co-op at Brown Brother's Harriman, I learned PM skills that proved useful as a Management Engineering Co-op at Beth Israel where I created Gantt charts and project overviews, charted the future timelines and scope of projects and used lean and six sigma techniques to work on internal healthcare process improvement. I also interned at Ariel Re in Bermuda where I was a Catastrophe modeling intern. There, I learned about catastrophe modeling concepts and about pricing the renewal business, as well as led preliminary data analysis projects for the clean energy team.
My future professional interests lie in consulting, tech product management, finance and investments and the entrepreneurship landscape whether that be startups, venture capital or creating my own venture. In terms of future education, I plan to get my MBA after working in industry for a couple of years.
Outside of professional work, I enjoy enriching my life though playing squash, learning Chinese, cooking comforting food and taking film photography.
